Με αφορμή τα όσα έχουμε δεί τον τελευταίο χρόνο και φυσικά το ναυάγιο ανοιχτά της Πήλου που στοίχησε την ζωή σε εκατοντάδες ανθρώπου που έψαχναν μια καλύτερη ζωή, θυμόμαστε τραγούδια - σταθμούς που μας υπενθυμίζουν την έννοια της ανθρωπότητας.
Το "We Are The World" που κυκλοφόρησε από την USA for Africa, μας έδειξε τι πάει να πεί ενότητα, σεβασμός για τον άνθρωπο αλλά πως αν δουλέψουμε όλοι μαζί, όλα είναι πιθανά. Με το τραγούδι μαθαίνουμε ότι η αρνητικότητα, ο θυμός, η εκδίκηση και το να ρίχνουμε τον συνάνθρωπο μας, δεν έχει χώρο στον κόσμο αυτό που ζούμε.
Το "We Are The World" υπογράφει ο Michael Jackson και ο Lionel Richie, ενώ είναι σε παραγωγή Quincy Jones και Michael Omartian για το ομόνυμο άλμπουμ. Το music video που κυκλοφόρησε το 1985 μας είχε αφήσει με το στόμα ανοιχτό. Συμμετείχαν θρύλοι της μουσικής που ακόμη και σήμερα, αποτελούν το Α και το Ω της βιομηχανίας.
Συμμετείχαν οι: Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson, Al Jarreau, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry, Daryl Hall, Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, Cindy Lauper και φυσικά, Kim Carnes.
Αν μείνατε άφωνοι, είχαμε την ίδια αντίδραση. Το τραγούδι - ύμνος, έχει πουλήσει πάνω από 20 εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα και βρίσκεται στην 8η θέση με τα πιο επιτυχημένα τραγούδια παγκοσμίως.
Ο ακτιβιστής Harry Belafonte, είχε ως όραμα να κυκλοφορήσει ένα τραγούδι με όλους τους πασίγνωστους και αγαπητούς μουσικούς, με σκοπό όλα τα τα έσοδα να δωθούν στην φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση USA for Africa. Ένα όραμα που πραγματοποιήθηκε με τεράστια επιτυχία, όπως φάνηκε.
Σήμερα, βλέπουμε τα backstage από τα γυρίσματα ενός βίντεο που άλλαξε θα λέγαμε τη μουσική. Που μας δίδαξε πολλά αλλα κατά κύριο λόγο, πόσο δυνατό είναι τελικά το "ισχύς εν τη ενώσει".
